How to Get Into a Metaverse

The term “metaverse” originated in 1992, in Neal Stephenson’s cyberpunk novel Snow Crash. It describes a world in which virtual reality and real life merge. Today, companies such as Disney and Microsoft have invested in virtual reality. But what exactly is a metaverse? And how can we get into one? Read on to learn more. We will explore the concept of metaverses and how to get involved in the technology.

Metaverses are virtual worlds that users can visit, and engage in social and collaborative activities. These social platforms allow users to make friends with other players and create relationships. The gameplay in a metaverse will be based on “play to earn.” For instance, players will be able to sell items to other users for cryptocurrency. The architecture of the metaverse may allow the creation of portable game assets. In addition, there will be a planet dedicated to meditation and self-actualization.

Despite its dark side, there are some positives. Citi GPS estimates that by 2030, there will be over five billion people using the Metaverse. But there are also negatives: high volatility, regulatory uncertainty, money laundering, counterfeit NFTs, and trading scams. The advantages of big firms investing in the Metaverse are their budget and data privacy. Moreover, these companies have the resources to build the infrastructure for a community-based metaverse.
