He said the so-called crypto winter for Bitcoin is over for now, with a forecast for the #1 cryptocurrency to reach $100,000 by later 2023, in a run higher that could last up to 2025.

“I’m not giving a major buy signal, I’m just saying, yes, you can start to buy a little bit,” Lamoureux told MarketWatch in a recent interview. Hovering at $30,000 and off more than 55% from a record high of $68,990 in November 2021, bitcoin meets much of his criteria to exit a bear market, he said.

“One of the main things that drives Bitcoin (BTC) is supply,” he said. “There’s less supply, so there’s less coming to the market …that historically has always driven prices higher. What I’m saying is that it’s out of the narrative now.”

What is the Metaverse?

The Metaverse is a world within a world. There are various ways to get involved in the world of the metaverse, including using VR headsets and virtual reality. Some of the most popular uses for the metaverse are in video games. For example, the popular Fortnite video game has over 350 million players, and in one recent event, the virtual concert by Travis Scott was watched by more than twelve million gamers. In the future, the Metaverse could be used as a social network and virtual community where people can interact with each other.

The term “metaverse” was first used by the author of the cyberpunk novel Snow Crash in 1992. Since then, it has evolved to encompass virtual reality, augmented reality, and cryptocurrency. The first novel to introduce the concept of virtual reality, Ready Player One, was published in 1992 and became a popular movie in 2018. Facebook has also invested heavily in virtual reality. In 2014, the company purchased virtual reality hardware and software platform Oculus.

With so many uses, the metaverse is still in its early stages. While there isn’t a single gateway to the metaverse, hardware can range anywhere from a cheap Google Cardboard to a high-end VR headset. Meta has released an app for meetings that works in VR and Microsoft Corp. has released a similar product called Mesh. Meanwhile, Canadian tech companies are also experimenting with the metaverse as a virtual workplace for remote employees. Virtual job fairs have also popped up in the metaverse.
