The Metaverse and Cryptocurrency
The Metaverse is a concept from Neal Stephenson’s 1992 novel Snow Crash. It describes a virtual reality world where we can interact with other people using avatars. This digital space is filled with fantastic and whimsical environments that are shared by many people. The technology behind the Metaverse will allow people to interact with other people and share ideas without leaving their own computer.
In the metaverse, users live in their own personal space and interact with other users using an online avatar. These avatars allow people to move, speak, and take actions. They can also own virtual property and sell it or exchange it for non-fungible tokens. This concept could potentially change the nature of the digital economy.
Blockchain-based apps are used to create the virtual worlds. This allows users to own virtual land and play games for money. SecondLive, Decentraland, and Axie Infinity are some of the most popular metaverses currently in the market. The Axie token, which is created on the Ethereum blockchain, is a non-fungible token that is used in the game. Axies are made up of more than 500 body parts and can be bred with other Axies. The resulting offspring can be sold on the gaming platform.
Another platform with a crypto-based currency is Bloktopia. It is a collaborative space for crypto users, and offers immersive materials. This virtual world is based on the blockchain and uses the world’s most powerful real-time 3D creative engine. Players can purchase “bloks” of real estate using the BLOK cryptocurrency. The game also includes a blockchain-based multiplayer video game called Star Atlas.
