Facebook’s Metaverse – The Next Mobile Internet
The concept of the Metaverse has gained enormous momentum over the past few weeks. Not only did Facebook rename their social network to Meta, but it has also been the subject of much discussion on other social media sites. Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, recently announced plans to build a digital world using AR and VR technologies. The idea behind the metaverse is to allow people to work, socialize, and relax in a virtual environment. Many in Silicon Valley believe that the Metaverse will be the next major leap forward in modern technology.
The technology behind the Metaverse isn’t yet fully developed, but the idea behind it is quite exciting. Zuckerberg has said that Metaverse is the next mobile Internet, and that Facebook plans to support NFTs in the future. In addition, the company announced earlier this week that it will invest $10 billion in the Metaverse this year. Some of the most prominent figures in the crypto space have expressed similar views. Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands, which also owns popular crypto games such as CryptoKitties, is a major investor in NBA Top Shot creator Dapper Labs.
The new projects of the Metaverse also include Horizon Workrooms, which will enable users to meet in a virtual room. Users can also visit virtual spaces through their Teams. Mark said he hopes that the technology will make work from home a mainstream trend in the virtual world. He also believes that it can allow colleagues to interact in the same virtual space. The Metaverse will make the concept of virtual spaces a reality. It will be exciting to see how the company uses this technology.
