Crypto and the Metaverse
Facebook and Microsoft have been buying up virtual land. How does this relate to crypto? What do these companies think the Metaverse will be like? Facebook has also said it will be a “social network” for users and has partnered with Ethereum to create the infrastructure. However, many of its critics question whether the Metaverse will really be social. Here’s an example of what the company is actually doing. The company has been acquiring virtual land in various projects.
Microsoft recently announced its own plans for a metaverse. The new platform is slated to allow Teams users to work together in virtual spaces as early as 2022. A metaverse could consist of a combination of software, hardware, and blockchain technology. If it’s not fully operational by then, Microsoft hopes to release a public beta version soon. Microsoft believes the metaverse will be a “social network” for users and could even help business people interact in a virtual space.
While it’s not as easy as it seems, a business can easily launch and operate a metaverse business. It can create virtual social experiences, launch new characters underpinned by NFTs, or sell products. All it takes is a business plan and substantial expertise. While large companies have access to all of the technological resources and financial backing, smaller businesses can often partner with them. However, these businesses should consider their niche and be ready for the metaverse.
