What is the Metaverse?
The Metaverse is the name given to a virtual world that exists outside of our physical reality. It’s a concept that’s been around since the early ’90s when Neal Stephenson wrote Snow Crash.
The most popular interpretation of the Metaverse is as a VR-based virtual universe where people can live their lives. It’s also a concept that many businesses are working on to improve their online environments.
It’s not necessarily dystopian, but it is a world that stretches the boundaries of what we can do and where we can be. It’s a world that’s growing in popularity, as technology continues to advance.
Crypto, Nft and Game
In the past decade, a lot of speculative money has been put into virtual world games like Roblox or Minecraft. The games essentially have a virtual economy, where players can earn digital tokens that are traded for real money.
These tokens can be used to purchase items and services within the game. These can include things like NFTs, which allow users to personalize their avatars or neighbourhoods.
They can also be used to pay for tickets to events and concerts. The metaverse also allows companies to develop new products and services that are not available in the physical world.
Some of these products and services are a part of the virtual reality experience, while others are more suited for use in augmented or mixed reality environments. These may include virtual workplaces, virtual shopping malls and even virtual sports stadiums.
