Facebook’s Metaverse – Mark Zuckerberg’s Next Big Thing
Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has hinted at a new technology known as the Metaverse. He has also dubbed it the next “big thing.” The Metaverse is essentially a virtual reality platform where you can interact with people from all over the world. It will allow you to connect with others and take on different roles. In addition, it will allow you to live in both the physical and digital worlds.
The Metaverse will be driven by entrepreneurs. These individuals will offer services, produce content, and do other useful things in the virtual world. In order to be successful, they must be able to monetize these services. For example, online cinemas could issue tokens for the right to watch movies. In addition, users could sell or exchange the tokens for other items, such as virtual properties.
Metaverse is already gaining popularity. Many players can purchase virtual land and earn money by playing games and competing against others. Several major firms are already marketing on the platform. One such company is Zoom, which has been hosting the Metaverse since two years. The company is also a major shareholder in CryptoKitties and NBA Top Shot creator Dapper Labs.
Microsoft has also announced its plans to create a metaverse of its own. Users of the Microsoft Teams collaboration program will be able to visit virtual spaces as early as 2022. Microsoft is also integrating holographic capabilities with its Teams chat app.
