The Future of Cryptocurrencies and the Metaverse

The Metaverse is a digital space accessible through desktop computers, game consoles, virtual reality glasses, wristbands and headsets. In time, millions of users will be able to work, play and collaborate together. Companies such as Microsoft, NVIDIA and Epic Games are already making headway in this exciting area. Recently, Gucci collaborated with the popular online game creation platform Roblox to sell digital accessories in the form of NFTs. Coca-Cola is also launching a virtual world, and the company recently announced that it will be investing $1 billion in its metaverse unit.

The name change has caused a surge in Metaverse gaming cryptocurrencies. Facebook is now called Meta Platforms Inc., but Facebook will remain Facebook. This will not affect other social networking sites like LinkedIn, MySpace or Snap. The rebranding of the company is a positive sign. However, some people are skeptical of Facebook’s promises to build the metaverse responsibly. In addition, Facebook’s investment in virtual reality makes the company an unnecessary threat to the metaverse.

Microsoft recently announced that it will build its own metaverse for Teams users. It will allow Teams users to visit virtual spaces as early as 2022. Microsoft has outlined plans for metaverse that include a combination of blockchain technology, data centers, and software. But the future of this futuristic technology is still in the future, and the vision is still in its early stages. There are many questions that remain unanswered. And while it is important to keep in mind that states are trying to control the virtual world, it is also necessary to acknowledge that it can’t be done.
